Tonight (13th November 2024) I will be at the Private view of The London Photo Show. I will be showing a selection of "Flyhouse", a documentary series of photos taken at Knottingley Maggot Farm in 19991.
I was a student and needed a summer job, and at that time there wasn't much available in Knottingley, a small town in Yorkshire. So I ended up shovelling maggots for 8 weeks.
It was a time that was hot and dirty and had an indescribably stench. It was the reason I managed to get myself sorted and travelled to America the following year to take photos at Summer Camp.
That couldn't have been more different.
